Noel Galea

After studying vocal technique under the tuition of Prof. Dobreva at Opera Studio And with Juliette Bisazza Zanni, bass Noel Galea appeared in various concerts, operas and oratorios. He has also performed in notable performance venues which include St. Peter’s Basilica, and in Aula Nervi in the presence of Pope John Paul II. He has given performances in England, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece and France.
Furthermore, he has admirably interpreted numerous roles in operatic productions in Malta together with international casts namely in La Traviata, Macbeth, Trovatore, Carmen, Fedora, La Bohème, Aida, Turandot, Tosca, Così
Fan Tutte, La Cambiale di Matrimonio, Le Nozze di Figaro, Compostela, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Werther, Romeo et Juliette, Rigoletto, Die Zauberflöte, Aleko, La Clemenza di Tito, La Serva Padrona and The Merry Widow at the Teatru Manoel, Teatru Astra and Teatru Aurora; and Charles Camilleri’s The Maltese Cross at the MCC and at Auditorium Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris.
Galea has also sung Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem Mass and Coronation Mass, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Gounod’s Messe Solenelle, John Galea’s Missa Ignes Charitatis, Colin Attard’s oratorio Ġużeppi ta’ Nazaret and Stabat Mater by Carmelo Pace. Noel Galea recorded on CD Isouard’s Messa Leggera and John Galea’s Ġgantija and Il-Qalb ta' Kristu at the Bulgarian National Radio together with the Sofia Symphony Orchestra and published by EMI Milano Italy.
Noel Galea also sang the lead role of Sixtus in the premier performances of John Galea’s oratorio Laurentius, performed with internationally acclaimed Soprano Miriam Gauci and Malta’s Philharmonic Orchestra at St. John’s Co-Cathedral and during John Galea’s Missa In Fractione Panis, in the Papal Mass by H.H. Benedict XVI in Malta.
Noel has also performed in Musical productions, namely Fiddler on the Roof, Scrooge, Sound of Music, Chess, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
